The Gallery Director/Curator provides a leadership role in highlighting contemporary visual art as a vital component of the cultural fabric of the University of Waterloo community. The Gallery Director/Curator will be responsible for all day-to-day operations of two galleries: the main space in East Campus Hall, and a satellite operation in the Modern Languages Building across. Must be a graduate of a three-year Civil Engineering Technology program or equivalent education and experience. TEMPORARY POSITIONS
The Canadian Cryospheric Information Network (CCIN) is a data management and web product project in the Department of Geography and Environmental Management at the University of Waterloo. We are developing a master metadata portal and geospatial search tool to promote stewardship of cryospheric data and research, for programs such as the International Polar Year, ArcticNet, and Northern Contaminants. This position will provide the opportunity to focus on software development related to specific data management projects. The primary responsibility will be developing the metadata portal, geospatial search tool and other website applications.
The ideal candidate will be organized, comfortable working in a small team, have excellent research skills and will be able to prioritize and accomplish a diverse set of responsibilities. Attention to detail and communication skills are critical. Code debugging and development is expected to comprise 80% of this position.

Department of Psychology

The candidate will work in collaboration with Drs. Wood and Holmes, as well as Dr. Jessica Cameron (University of Manitoba), Dr. Danu Stinson (University of Victoria) and Dr. Christine Logel (currently at Stanford University), to analyze two longitudinal and social network data sets. These collaborations are expected to result in up to five manuscripts, with opportunities to co-author existing projects and to create new projects based on the candidate's own interests in the data sets
The candidate should have a PhD in social psychology by August 2010. Most essential to the position is a demonstrated strong background in multilevel modeling (especially using longitudinal data) and structural equation modeling. An interest in research in close relationships or the self may be an asset but is not required. Willingness to provide informal workshops or one-on-one instruction in multilevel modeling and structural equation modeling at the four institutions will be an asset. There will be opportunities to travel to the non-hosting universities to give invited talks and provide workshops, funding permitting

This area needs assistance with current activities, including an LMS Selection Project, support for our LMS software upgrade, and general support for our LMS (UW-ACE). Job Description
The successful candidate will receive overall direction from the Director of ITMS. Day to day guidance will be provided by an LMS Support Specialist. He or she will assist the LMS project team and LMS support team generally.

Administrative Assistant: Energy Hub Management System Project

The Administrative Assistant reports directly to the project manager. and indirectly to the project's Principal Investigator, The incumbent also works with other faculty members in Environment and the Department of Electrical and Computing Engineering , as well as industry partners. The Administrative Assistant enables the project to move forward though the effective administration of budget, coordinating meeting logistics, recording of decisions and assisting management an investigators complete project task within deadlines. Major Responsibilities and Tasks
The incumbent provides administrative and project support to the project manager, the Principal Investigator, and the management team by:
Tracking all project expenses and spending, using FORE (the Universitys financial reporting system). Accurately recording expenses into monthly and quarterly project budget reports including variances, stream expanses and line item balances for the Project manager and the management team.
Preparing budget reconciliation of the Project Budget for the University's Office of Research, the Ontario Power Authority, and the Ontario Centers of Excellence.
Creating specific financial expenditure reports for each researcher.
Recording minutes of meeting, recording decisions, maintaining up to date electronic file and written records.
Distributing meeting agendas, minutes, record of decision, budget reports and correspondence to project participants and management.
Managing logistics of meetings, room bookings, conference calls (video and phone), email reminders.
Updating the project website, using Adobe Contribute .
Updating the SharePoint site (with meeting notes, presentations, announcements).
Updating the project work plan using MS Project.
Keeping all electronic and paper files up-to-date and organized.
Assembling project-relevant information from websites and academic journals.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following qualifications and skills:
Administrative experience including budget reporting responsibilities, and/or financial administrative support, and or accounting/ bookkeeping background.
Experience in office or project administration.
