Primary Purpose

Manage, induding archiving and making available online in the Polar Data Catalogue, the data and information produced by scientists from various Arctic and Antarctic research and monitoring programs in canada and abroad, and engage with data contributors, users, and partner programs to broaden understanding of the requirements and importance of data management for science and society.

Key Accountabilities:

1.  Manage metadata and data submitted for archiving in the Polar Data Catalogue (PDC), including but not limited to the following activities:

 

2.  Engage with partner programs, data contributors, and other stakeholders involved in managing Arctic and Antarctic data and information, including but not limited to the following activities:

 

3.  Raise awareness of data management and the PDC, including but not limited to the following activities:

 

4.  Assist with technical tasks related to data management and making the PDC collections available online, including but not limited to the following activities:

 

5.  Participate in and contribute to CCIN program activities, including but not limited to the following:

Determines conformance of metadata and data submissions from researchers with requirements for quality and completeness and independently contacts contributors when improvements are neededIndependently designs and creates presentation and outreach materials
