Primary Purpose

The Research Secretary provides clerical and financial support for research active faculty members subsidizing position. The incumbent also reports to the Department Administrative Officer with regard to human resources related matters. 

Key Accountabilities:

2.  In conjunction with the Research Financial Coordinators, supports faculty members with financial administration as related to their respective research grants and contracts:

 

3.  Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by sponsoring faculty members.

Position Requirements

Education:

Community College Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

Minimum of two years of experience in an academic office environment.

Nature and Scope

Interpersonal Skills:

Internally, communicates with all administrative staff, graduate students, and assigned faculty members within the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, as well as university service departments. 
Externally, this position will communicate with travel agencies and industry partners to arrange visits.

Normal day-to-day academic department administrative support decisions.

Physical and Sensory Demands:

Minimal demands typical to an administrative position within an academic department office environment.

Working Environment:

Minimal exposure to disagreeable conditions typical of a large academic department.
