Statistical Programmer

General Accountability

Accountable to a faculty member in Biostatistics, in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at the University of Waterloo.  Responsible for statistical computing, consultation with cancer researchers at cancer research institutions in Ontario, and for biostatistical research.

Nature and Scope

The incumbent will work closely with, and under the direct supervision of Richard Cook.  The incumbent is expected to carry out several types of tasks including:

Expertise in the analysis of life history data, analysis of longitudinal data, methods for dealing with incomplete data due to drop-outs and missing covariates is highly desirable. Familiarity with the design and conduct of clinical trials is essential.

The position is contingent on the availability of funds.

Statistical Data

Statistical data will be provided by cancer research groups in Ontario

The incumbent will be responsible for numerous projects simultaneously. Strong organizational and time management skills are required. Excellent communication skills are essential. Travel to cities in Southern Ontario will be required on occasion for interaction with cancer researchers.
