Project Researcher and Writer

General Accountability

The researcher will report to the Project Director and Principal Researchers as appropriate, in respect of specific research tasks, presentations, duties of organizational support and shared responsibilities concerning project development.

Nature and Scope

The position entails participation in a working research collective whose members are responsible for particular research topics/subjects. The researcher must be fluent in both humanities- and science-based research languages because the position requires an analysis of the language of medical science, its various stakeholders and its assumptions in organizational settings such as the hospital and the doctor's office.  Analyzing the terms and conditions of the discourse from the perspective of analytic theory, hermeneutics and phenomenology will be the basis for creating a body of narratives available for joint researchers to develop. Regular contributions to team meetings are required, as well as research-related travel, correspondence, and conference participation. The Project Director and Principals determine acceptable minimums for productivity. Self-audit is expected and required for ongoing development of research goals.

Research may take place in field settings such as Hospitals, Community Health Centres, and Doctor's Offices. Office space is supplied.
