Primary Purpose

This position is responsible for financial management, human resources administration, management of facilities and equipment, and other administrative functions required to support the teaching and research missions of the Conrad Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology Centre. The Administrative Officer is the senior administrative staff position in the department and provides continuity as academic leadership changes.

Position Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required. Education or training in business and human resources administration preferred.

Experience:

 

Technical:

Intermediate experience with Outlook Express, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, including features such as databases and pivot tables. Basic experience with Sharepoint and web content management software.

Nature and Scope

Interpersonal Skills:

Internally, makes contact with senior administrative staff to present and discuss information and problems.

 Externally, makes contact with contractors and suppliers to deal with, influence, and motivate.

 

Maintains and cultivates strong relationships with alumni, Advisory Council members and other stakeholders.

Level of Responsibility:

The job has specialized work with minimal supervision and has direct reports reporting to it.
