General Accountability
Reporting to the Director, the Manager, Campus Bar Operations is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the bar operations of Federation Hall and the Bombshelter Pub.
Federation Hall is a licensed multi-use facility with a maximum capacity of 1074 people, including patios. The Bombshelter Pub has a capacity of 373 people inside plus a licensed patio area for up to 210 patrons. Each facility has stand alone food service capabilities for the service of light meals.
The incumbent will supervise the work of the Manager, Federation Hall and the Manager, Bombshelter Pub. The two facilities employ approximately 150 part-time hourly paid staff.
Total food and beverage sales of the two facilities are estimated to be $2million dollars per year.

Specific Accountabilities
The Incumbent will:
- develop, implement and enforce operating policies and practices under the supervision of the Directorate, consistent with provisions of the Liquor License Act of Ontario, Federation of Students and University Policies and Procedures. Have appropriate measures in place to ensure compliance with all workplace safety, food service safety and sanitation guidelines.
- develop an annual operating and capital budget for each facility. Monitor performance to budget throughout the year, taking corrective action as required.
- develop position descriptions for all part-time staff. Hire, train and motivate all staff employed within the two facilities.
- put in place a schedule for the three management positions with Campus Bar Operations to ensure that a manager is on duty at all times that one of the facilities is open and serving alcohol and ensure that enough part-time staff are on duty to safely and effectively operate the facilities.
- approve and submit the bi-weekly hourly paid payroll
- working closely with the Food Operations Manager of the Federation of Students, coordinate the staff training and scheduling to meet the needs of the food service facilities within Federation Hall and the Bombshelter Pub.
- conduct regular audits of cash flow, payroll, inventory and purchases and all operating practices. Conduct a full physical count inventory at least monthly, or more frequently as required.
- determine order quantities for all alcoholic beverages and communicate these to the appropriate designate of the liquor license holder. Supervise the receipt, storage and distribution of all alcoholic beverages.
- supervise the preparation of the daily sales deposit and compare this with the sales summary. Immediately address any variance.
- purchase all required supplies and smallwares from approved suppliers.
- ensure that all staff is Smart Serve trained.
- prepare an annual report to meet the requirements of University Policy #21.
- handle patron grievances and all matters of patron discipline within established guidelines.
- work a varied schedule with frequent long days, and work evenings and weekends.
