Reports to: Receiving/Shipping Operating Manager

General Accountability

The receiver/shipper is accountable to the Shipping/Receiving Manager for primarily but not limited to receiving CampusTechshop goods and assisting with shipping/receiving functions as required to support the academic mission of Retail Services.

Nature and Scope

The incumbent reports to the Shipping/Receiving Manager.  Reporting to the Shipping/Receiving Manager are 4 full-time staff:  2- Shipper/Receiver, 1- CTS Shipper/Receiver, 1- Order Fulfilment/Shipper Receiver.  The Shipping/Receiving Manager reports to the Director of Retail Services. 

The incumbent is an effective shipper/receiver team staff member who maintains a positive working relationship with co-workers in Retail Services.  Attention to details, accuracy, and timely turn around for shipping and receiving of goods are important in meeting the demands expected from CampusTechshop customers.  Over 70% of transactions are faculty research or department purchases that are subject to funding deadlines.

Working Conditions

Over 70% of the time is spent in a comfortable position with opportunity to move about.  Located in clean indoor area, open office environment.  There is frequent need to give close attention to invoice/packing slip details, accurate input of quantities received.   Heavy lifting and moving products/fixtures following the safety guidelines of UW Health and Safety.

Some extended hours, weekends or statutory holiday such as  Labour Day as required.
