Bookstore Associate

Grade: USG 05 Reports to: Bookstore Operations Co-ordinator

General Accountability

This position is accountable to the Bookstore Operations Co-ordinator for all Bookstore customer service functions, General Books special orders,  courseware materials and acts as the liaison between the Bookstore and Graphic Services.  The incumbent supports the Bookstore’s mission and the academic mission of the University.

The Bookstore is one of five business units within Retail Services.   The Operations Co-ordinator reports to the Bookstore Manager.   In addition to the Special Orders and Customer Service Assistant, the Bookstore Sales Assistant and approximately 6 to 12 part-time student floor staff report to the Operations Co-ordinator.

The incumbent is an effective team staff member with in depth knowledge of  the publishing industry and their related academic and general book titles.

Challenges include meeting the demands of our campus customers – students, faculty, staff and alumni and providing quality customer service during  peak periods in August, September, December, January and April.
